The English singer and composer Ellie Goulding became widely known in 2010 after the release of her debut album, Lights. The album made it to the UK Album Chart as one of the best-selling records of 2010, while its tracks brought the singer popularity far beyond her country and made a strong showing in the top positions of the US Billboard Hot 100. Also, her first album won Ellie Goulding a BRIT Critics' Choice Award and helped her top the Sound of… annual poll conducted by the BBC to discover new talent. In 2012 the singer finished work on her second studio album, Halcyon. |
