In 1979 Argentinean journalists helped launch the mystery of the unexplained little green men spotted on a photograph of the tourists who visited the area around Mendoza. At the same time, Mendoza saw the birth of a new rock band whose members took advantage of the popular interest in the local mystery and called themselves Enanitos Verdes (Green Gnomes). Ten years and five successful albums later the band split. Yet, in 1992 Enanitos Verdes released a new album to mark their reunion. Since then the band has managed to re-establish its popularity and maintain its position right up to the present day. |
