Five young singers from England met in 2010 while participating in the show The X Factor and, on the suggestion of the organizers, joined to form a group called One Direction. Their performance in the show was so successful that the newly-formed band was easily able to become one of the finalists, and soon the group One Direction began recording their debut album “Up All Night.” The first record was released in November of 2011 and was a resounding success. The album topped the musical charts in sixteen countries and was mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first debut album from Great Britain that managed to lead the US Billboard 200. |
