Gianluca Bezzina, Malta’s bid for the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest, was born in 1989. He began showing interest in music when a child and by the age of seven started playing the accordion and singing in a children’s choir. Gianluca Bezzina is best known in his homeland as the front man in the Maltese band Funk Initiative. Despite his fame gaining momentum and his band’s music being aired by Maltese radio stations, the young man remains loyal to his main occupation: Gianluca Bezzina is a surgeon and has been operating in the St. Vincent’s residential care home since 2012. |
