In the late 90s of the last century, musician Damon Albarn and comic book illustrator Jamie Hewlett had the idea to create an animated musical group. This is how the British band Gorillaz was born, which became widely known immediately after the release of their self-titled debut album: the record was sold around the world in seven million copies, and the band entered the Guinness Book of Records as the “Biggest-selling virtual band”. Over the years of the band’s existence, the fictional universe of Gorillaz has been formed, which covers the life of the animated band members in music, video clips, animation and books. |
