System of a Down (SOAD) was formed in the early 1990s by Americans of Armenian descent Serj Tankian and Daron Malakian. System of a Down are prominent representatives of the nu-metal music style. In their songs, musicians often address political issues. In 2006, the SOAD band decided to take a long break and work on solo projects. The hiatus lasted five years, after which SOAD returned to their active musical life in full force. |
