Arttu Wiskari is a Finnish singer-songwriter from Espoo whose songs often turn ordinary lives and everyday situations into sharply observed stories. He began with blues and self-released a blues album in 2006, but his breakthrough came four years later with Mökkitie: after record labels passed on the song, he released it himself, radio stations picked it up, and Warner Music Finland offered him a record deal. His self-titled debut album went platinum, and songs such as Tuntematon potilas, Sirpa and Suomen muotoisen pilven alla became some of his best-known recordings. The latter was Finland’s most-played radio song of 2019. |
