Tame Impala is the musical project of Australian musician Kevin Parker, formed in Perth in 2007. Although Tame Impala performs as a full band on stage, the studio recordings are essentially Parker’s solo work: he writes the songs, plays nearly all the instruments, records and produces the music himself. The first two albums, InnerSpeaker and Lonerism, were rooted in psychedelic rock, while Currents moved further into synths, pop and dance music and included The Less I Know the Better. Parker later released The Slow Rush and Deadbeat, continuing to explore electronic textures and rhythm. Outside Tame Impala, he has worked with artists including The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, SZA and Lady Gaga. In 2026, End of Summer earned Tame Impala the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. |
