Peter Nalitch was born in 1981 in Moscow. He became popular in 2007 thanks to his song Guitar and an amateur music video performance put out on YouTube. The musician’s popularity on the Internet attracted the attention of the mass media. Kommersant magazine’s observer called Peter “Russia’s first singing Internet phenomenon”. In 2008 Nalitch released his debut album, The Joy of Simple Melodies, which was distributed on-line on a Pay-What-You-Want basis for the first time in Russia, meaning that users could download the album for free. In 2010 this apparently “outside the box” musician became the winner of the Russian national final of Eurovision, thus going to Oslo to represent Russia. |
