Sir Elton Hercules John, born as Reginald Kenneth Dwight, is an English rock singer, composer, pianist, Knight Bachelor (1995) and Commander of The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) (1997). Elton John has sold 250 million copies of his discs, thus becoming one of the most successful musicians of all times. In 2004 Rolling Stone magazine rated him 49th in the 100 best artists in history. |
