María Luz Casal Paz, known as Luz Casal is a Galician pop/rock singer and one of the most valued exponents of Spanish music. In the 1980s she became internationally famous primarily because her songs were featured in the soundtrack for the movie High Heels (Tacones Lejanos) by Pedro Almόdovar. Her albums sold over 5 million copies. In November 2009 Luz Casal received the medal of the French Order of Arts and Letters. |
