K'naan, born as Keinan Abdi Warsame, is a Canadian poet and musician of Somali origin. He is considered the most famous African rap performer, although he moved to Canada at an early age. He turns to Somalian and African origins in his poetry. Translated from Somalian, his nickname means “traveler”. In 2010, a few months before the FIFA championship, his song “Wavin’ Flag” became the promotional anthem of the Football World Cup organized by Coca-Cola.
