Metallica is an American metal band founded in 1981 by James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Together with Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax, Metallica was one of the Trash Metal Big Four, having a great influence on the style’s evolution. Metallica has always been one of the most commercially successful metal bands. Millions of copies of their albums are sold all over the world and their concerts play to many thousands of people. Aside from music, members of the band have worked on TV cartoon series (The Simpsons, 2005) and movies (The Darwin Awards, 2006). |
