Carla Bruni-Sarkozy was born in the Italian city of Turin and moved to Paris with her family when she was five. In France, the young woman built a remarkable modeling career and became one of the biggest modeling successes of the 1990’s. At the age of thirty, Carla stepped down from the runway and turned to music. In 2002, she released her debut album, Quelqu'un m'a dit, with songs in French and in Italian, which she herself composed. In 2008, Carla Bruni married French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, and continued her musical career despite her first lady status, releasing a new album six months after the wedding.
