British singer Arnold George Dorsey who is known under the stage name of Engelbert Humperdinck was born on May 2, 1936 in India. The singer started his career in music in 1956. Engelbert Humperdinck reached the peak of his popularity with the song Release Me, which in 1967 topped The Beatles double single Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane in the British charts. In the course of his career, the singer released over 60 albums and was a multiple Grammy nominee. Engelbert Humperdinck was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his major contribution to the recording industry. In 2012, the singer was chosen to represent the United Kingdom at Eurovision in Baku.
