Estonian singer and songwriter Ott Lepland was born on 17 May 1987 in Tallinn. From early childhood, he studied voice at a music school, focusing on pop and jazz music, and at the age of eight recorded his first album featuring children's songs. In 2010, after entering and winning the popular Eesti otsib superstaari (Estonia Looking for Superstars) contest, he became widely known in his country. Soon thereafter, he released a new, commercially successful album, Ott Lepland. In 2012, finishing ahead of 9 other candidates for the Eurovision Song Contest, he was chosen to represent Estonia in Azerbaijan as the best of all national finalists. |
