Dutch singer Joan Franka was born on April 2, 1990 in Rotterdam. She became famous at the age of twenty after participating in the first series of the music show The Voice of Holland. During the project the young woman garnered the support of Holger Schwedt, a popular producer who later worked with Joan on her debut album. The songs in the album have all been written by the singer and feature the music style of the 1960's. In 2012, after finishing first in the national finals, Joan Franka was chosen to represent the Netherlands in the international Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan.
