In the early 2000s, Spanish musician Ramón Melendi made a demo recording of three of his songs. After this recording made its way into the hands of a producer at Carlito Records Company, Melendi managed to win his first contract. The musician’s debut album "Sin noticias de Holanda", a collection of pop-flamenco compositions, was released in 2003. The album release was accompanied by a concert tour, which resulted in the record breaking into the national charts and going gold. As his musical career continued, Melendi became so successful that he not only has continued releasing new albums, but also has been able to support beginning artists on his own music label, Blue Donkey Music.
