Pink (born Alecia Beth Moore) is a US singer, songwriter, and actress. She started performing in Philadelphia clubs at the age of 14. At 16 she joined a girl group called Choice, which did achieve a certain degree of fame, but split three years after it had been formed. The group’s collaboration with LaFace Records allowed the singer to smoothly continue her music career, supported by the same record label. Alecia adopted the stage name Pink thanks to her friends: she used to turn red when embarrassed. Pink gained wide recognition in early 2000 after the release of her album Can’t Take Me Home.
