Acquainted since college, Chilean musicians Álvaro López and Francisco Durán from the city of Concepción decided to consolidate their creative plans and in 1999 founded a band called Los Bunkers. They were soon joined by their brothers Gonzalo López and Mauricio Durán, as well as drummer Manuel Lagos, and made their debut in front of the audience. The band fairly quickly gained momentum in their native city and, having acquired a new drummer, completed their line-up and set off for the capital. Their alternative rock with a touch of local folk struck a chord with thousands in Santiago, and, following this success, Los Bunkers were soon among the best rock bands not only in Chile, but also in Mexico. |
