Fm Gm/F Fm7
She was more like a beauty queen
Gm/F Fm
From a movie scene.
         Gm/F
I said, “Don’t mind,
            Fm7 Gm/F Bbm7
But what do you mean, I am the one
Who will dance on the floor
         Fm Gm/F Fm7
In the round?”
           Gm/F Bbm7
She said, “I am the one
Who will dance on the floor
         Fm Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F Fm
In the round.”

         Gm/F Fm7
She told me her name was Billie Jean
Gm/F Fm
As she caused a scene,
        Gm/F
Then every head turned with eyes
Fm7 Gm/F Bbm7
That dreamed of being the one
Who will dance on the floor
         Fm Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F
In the round.

   C#
   People always told me,
       Fm
“Be careful of what you do
             C#
   And don’t go around breaking
                  Fm
   Young girls’ hearts.” (Hee-hee.)
       C#
   And Mother always told me,
       Fm
“Be careful of who you love
          C#
And be careful of what you do
   (Oh-oh),
              C7
   ’Cause the lie becomes the
   Truth.” (Oh-oh.) Hey-ey.

Chorus:
    Fm Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F
Billie Jean is not my lover.
    Fm Gm/F Fm7
She’s just a girl who claims
          Gm/F Bbm7
     That I am the one
     (Oh, baby),
                            Fm Gm/F
But the kid is not my son (hoo).
    Fm7 Gm/F Bbm7
She says I am the one (oh, baby),
                            Fm
But the kid is not my son.
           Gm/F Fm7
     (Hee-hee-hee, no-no,
          Gm/F Fm
     Hee-hee-hee, hoo.)

       Gm/F Fm7
For forty days and for forty nights,
Gm/F Fm
Law was on her side.
        Gm/F
But who can stand
              Fm7
When she’s in demand?
Gm/F Bbm7
Her schemes and plans?
’Cause we danced on the floor
         Fm Gm/F Fm7
In the round (hee).
        Gm/F Bbm7
So take my strong advice,
Just remember
                Fm Gm/F
To always think twice.
          Fm7 Gm/F
(Do think twice.) Do think twice.
          Fm
(Ah-hoo.)

         Gm/F
She told my baby
             Fm7
We’d danced ’til three,
Gm/F Fm
Then she looked at me.
            Gm/F Fm7
Then showed a photo of a baby crying.
    Gm/F Bbm7
His eyes were like mine (oh, no).
Go and dance on the floor
       Fm Gm/F
In the round, baby.
  Fm7 Gm/F
(Ooh, hee-hee-hee.)

   C#
   People always told me,
       Fm
“Be careful of what you do
             C#
   And don’t go around breaking
                  Fm
   Young girls’ hearts.”
   (Don’t break no hearts, hee-hee.)
           C#
But she came and stood right by me,
            Fm
Just the smell of sweet perfume.
        C#
   This happened much too soon.
       C7
She called me to her room, hey-ey.

Chorus:
    Fm Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F
Billie Jean is not my lover.
     (Hoo.)
    Fm Gm/F Fm7
She’s just a girl who claims
          Gm/F Bbm7
     That I am the one,
                            Fm
But the kid is not my son.
     Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F
     No-no-no, no-no, no-no-no (hoo).

    Fm Gm/F Fm7 Gm/F
Billie Jean is not my lover.
    Fm Gm/F Fm7
She’s just a girl who claims
          Gm/F Bbm7
     That I am the one,
                           Fm
But the kid is not my son.
      Gm/F
     (No, no.)
    Fm7 Gm/F Bbm7
She says I am the one,
                            Fm Gm/F
But the kid is not my son.
        Fm7 Gm/F
     (No, hee-hee-hee.)
