The music band Elaiza was founded in Germany in 2013. The band includes Ukraine-born Elżbieta Steinmetz (vocals) and the Germans Yvonne Grünwald (accordion) and Natalie Plöger (string bass). The band plays a mixture of modern pop music and Eastern European folk, an amalgam that the trio themselves call neofolk. In 2014 Elaiza was chosen to represent Germany at the Eurovision song contest in Copenhagen. |
