Brief information
|
The high school friends from the British county of Oxfordshire formed their group in 1985. The new team called themselves On a Friday, because all the rehearsals could only take place after the end of Friday’s school hours. A few years later the On a Friday band was spotted by the EMI Records and upon EMI’s recommendation changed their name to Radiohead in honor of the eponymous song by the American band Talking Heads popular at the time. During the long years of the Radiohead’s existence the core members of the band were not changed even once, in contrast to their musical style, which ranged from Brit-pop to electronic music and art-rock. |
