The singer Ann Sophie won her ticket to Eurovision 2015 in a fairly unusual way. Like many other artists wishing to represent Germany at the popular song contest, Ann Sophie went through national selection where the public voted her only the runner-up, following Andreas Kümmert. But unexpectedly for the singer and the 3 million Germans who cast their votes for the national selection winner, Andreas Kümmert rejected the opportunity to compete at Eurovision explaining his decision by lack of energy and confidence to take to the international stage. And so the right to represent Germany at the song contest was passed on to Ann Sophie. |
