In 2015, the right to hit the Eurovision Song Contest stage for their country was granted to the Norwegian duo of Kjetil Mørland and Debrah Scarlett. The two artists’ music careers may have been similar, but did not intersect up until the preparation for the contest. Both Mørland and Scarlett were born in Norway, but spent only a short time living in their home country. While living abroad, each started their own music band: Kjetil Mørland launched Absent Elk in the UK and Debrah Scarlett, The Rumours in Switzerland. But soon both artists decided to start a solo career and returned home. |
