Douwe Bob, Amsterdam native, decided from a young age to follow in the footsteps of his famous father, Simon Posthuma, a member of the Dutch group “The Fool”, and become a musician. At six years of age, he learned to play the piano and at twelve years, he won his first large musical contest, “De Beste Singer-Songwriter van Nederland” (Best Singer-Songwriter in Netherlands). In 2015, Bob and Anouk, the popular singer who represented the country in Eurovision in 2013, released the song “Hold Me”. The composition reached the top ranks of the country’s popular music charts and Bob decided to follow the example of his duet partner and try his skill at the national qualifying round for Eurovision. His attempt proved to be successful and Bob became the representative of Netherlands in the Eurovision contest in 2016.
