Young singer-songwriter James Arthur became the winner of the ninth season of The X Factor in Great Britain. “Impossible”, the song James performed during the show’s finale, was recorded for charity, with proceeds benefiting “Together for Short Lives”. The record became very popular, making James Arthur the first and only winner of The X Factor to start on top of UK Singles Chart in the week of the song’s release. Soon, James recorded a debut album, but the joy of his success was shortlived, hampered by accusations of homophobia and glorification of violence in his lyrics. Having endured all controversies, James managed not only to salvage his reputation and continue his musical career, but to return to the top of musical charts. |
