In 2008, Robin Bengtsson, an aspiring Swedish singer, took part in the fifth season of the popular show Idol, taking the third place. Not having secured the coveted victory on the show did not discourage Robin. Quite the opposite: his loss only stoked his interest in competing. Yet, his subsequent attempts did not earn him the top honor either—up until 2017. That year, Robin became the winner of Melodifestivalen, and his victory gave him the opportunity to jump into the competition at the Eurovision Song Contest.
