Shahnour Vaghinag Aznavourian was born on May 22, 1924, in Paris into an Armenian family, and after several decades became one of the most prominent representatives of the French chanson. He performed under the stage name Charles Aznavour. The musician authored more than 1300 compositions, has more than 200 million records sold, 60 roles played in movies, several books, as well as successful social and political activity. |
