Reba McEntire has hilariously recalled the time she accidentally took a very strong marijuana gummy.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, the country music star described how she was taking care of her mother Jacqueline in January 2020 amid a break from preparing for a tour.

Reba recounted how her sister Alice had instructed her to give their mum, who was battling bladder cancer, half of a weed gummy if she was in pain.

"When I got to Stringtown, Oklahoma, Alice told me, 'Now, if Mama starts hurting tonight when y'all go to sleep, give her one of these gummies. I said, 'OK, alright. The whole thing?' She said, 'Yes, the whole thing,'" she remembered. "Well, I wasn't really comfortable with that, so when we started going to bed, I said, 'Mama, let's get ahead of this pain. I'm going to give you half of this.'"

Reba noted Jacqueline fell asleep straight away, so she decided to take the other half of the gummy herself.

"I thought, 'Well shoot, Mama's taking it. I need to see what she's experiencing,'" the 69-year-old smiled, before explaining how the night took an unexpected turn when her mum needed to go to the bathroom. "I said, 'Mama, hang on I'll be right there,' and she said, 'I'm good.' So, I threw back the covers and that's about as far as I got. I thought I'm either going to crawl over the bed or walk right around."

Reba then humorously re-enacted the way she slowly creeped from one side of the bed to the other - only for her mum to ask for a glass of ice water.

"You know how you can fast forward on something real quick? Reba McEntire found in her mother's kitchen, ice all around. I thought, 'Ain't no way I'm going that way,'" she laughed, admitting that she gave Jacqueline regular water and told her they were out of ice. "I laid down and I swear there was weeds and flowers growing out of my head."

After the experience, Reba discovered she had taken a very strong THC-infused edible, as most are available in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, or 10 mg doses.

"So, the next day, I asked everybody, 'How many milligrams were in those things?' Fifty! I took 25 milligrams with my mother," the Just a Little Love star exclaimed, before declaring: "I still took care of mama!"

Reba's mum Jacqueline died at the age of 93 in March 2020.
