Injury forces Derulo to cancel tour

Jason Derulo has revealed he is "in deep pain" for his fans after being forced to cancel dates on his world tour.

The It Girl crooner was advised to take it easy after fracturing his neck while trying out an acrobatic dance move for the show.

"To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I've sustained," said the 22-year-old.

"My fans mean everything to me, so I'm praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future."

Jason injured himself while practising a dance move for his Future History world tour, which was due to launch in Glasgow on February 23.

After landing on his head during rehearsals, the Miami star suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra.

"After being rushed to Memorial West Hospital in Miami's Pembroke Pines, Florida, he was told by doctors that the accident could have left him paralysed. Derulo has been released from the hospital but must wear a neck brace for the next few months," a statement from his record company said.

Jason has been joking about his neck brace on Twitter, where he posted a photo of himself lying in bed.

"I fractured my neck doing tumbling & acrobatics 4 tour! Always tryin 2 push boundaries 4 YOU! Like my new chain?," he wrote.

Fans with tickets for the upcoming shows - including Birmingham, Sheffield, Cardiff and London - will be refunded. There is currently no information about rescheduled dates.
