Jennifer Lopez responds to criticism surrounding her choice of clothing

Jennifer Lopez has addressed the backlash over her choice of outfits.

During the opening night of her Las Vegas residency, Up All Night: Live in Las Vegas on Tuesday, the actress and singer dismissed suggestions that she doesn't dress appropriately for her age.

"It is funny, I do laugh at some of the things sometimes, but they do say funny things, too," Lopez said of her critics at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The 56-year-old went on to explain that she is often criticised for smiling with her mouth open.

"One of the things is, 'Why when she does pictures does she always smile with her mouth open?'" she said. "'Why she always do that? Why she smile when she takes pictures like that? Why does she always dress that way? Why don't she dress her age?' I was like, 'Huh?'"

The Hustlers star added that trolls also ask her why she's "always naked," before exclaiming, "And I said if you had this booty, you'd be naked too!"

Elsewhere in the show, JLO poked fun at her love life while reflecting on her first ever Las Vegas residency, which ran from 2016 to 2018.

"That went by in a blink didn't it? For those of you who were there on opening night 10 years ago," she stated. "At that time, I had only been married twice."

"That's not true. It was only once. Felt like twice," she quipped. "I'm just kidding."

Lopez went on to assure fans that she is now in her "happy era".

"It's over and we just, boom, and it's fine. It's all good," she told the audience. "The good news is that I'm learning and I'm growing. We're in our happy era right now."

The Wedding Planner actress was previously married to Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003, Marc Anthony from 2004 to 2014, and Ben Affleck from 2022 to 2025.
