Years & Years announced as headline act for extra date at Newcastle's Rock 'n' Roll Circus
Trailblazing pop favourite Years & Years, Tyneside's L Devine and singer-sonwriter BEKA have been announced as the latest additions to the bill at Rock 'n' Roll Circus which makes its debut this summer.
Olly Alexander's solo project Years & Years will share the headline slot on a newly-announced extra date for the inaugural event - billed as a Las Vegas-style live show - at the Town Moor in Newcastle in July. One of the most talked-about stars of the moment, especially in the wake of his starring role in Channel 4 hit series It's A Sin, Olly will take to the stage on June 12.
Playing Ritchie Tozer in Russell T Davies' Bafta hit about a group of friends living through the AIDS crisis won him a leading actor nomination and the show scooped 11 awards. The musical and acting talent also had further cause for celebration when his third album, Night Call - released in January - reached number one in the charts.
Brit Award nominee Olly has also become a voice to be listened to in discussions around issues affecting the LGBTQ+ community as well as mental health and fans eager to hear - and see - more of the star should be primed to act fast when tickets are released for his city appearance this coming Friday.
With L Devine and BEKA joining the line-up on the extra, third day - which follows fellow headliners Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds o n June 9 and The Libertines on June 11 - the Rock 'n' Roll Circus is set to make an impressive debut.
Promising to be a unique event, it will combine music and Big Top circus attractions including aerialists, stilt walkers and fortune tellers.
