Quo rockin' all over the screens

Rock veterans Status Quo are to be rockin' all over the screen - with two films in production in which they star.

The group announced earlier this year they were starring in their own action film, Bula Quo!.

And now a second movie is being made, tracing the story of the group as they celebrate a half century of making music.

The "rockumentary", called Hello Quo, will trace their 50 years of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll. It features new interviews with fans and admirers such as Queen's Brian May, The Buzzcocks, Slade, Paul Weller and producer and former ELO star Jeff Lynne.

There is also new footage of the band in action.

The group's Rick Parfitt said: "We're excited that we've now made the leap from gold discs to the silver screen all over the world. For a rock band that's a lot of metal."

Francis Rossi said: "This truly is the definitive look at our career to date and will be a great ride for both our fans and for those who have yet to discover us after 50 years."

Director Alan G Parker has previously made films about Sid Vicious, The Clash and Monty Python.

The band - famed for hits such as Whatever You Want, Down, Down and Rockin' All Over The World - have also been making their screen-acting debut with their movie Bula Quo!, which they filmed in Fiji.

The group have notched up more than 120 million album sales worldwide and spent in excess of 400 weeks in the UK singles chart.
