NewsDecember, 27 New Bon Jovi album 'stripped down'Bon Jovi's lead guitarist Richie Sambora has revealed that the band's new album will mark a musical "evolution". The 53-year-old, whose bandmates include frontman Jon Bon Jovi, drummer Tico Torres and keyboardist David Bryan, teased that the group's twelfth record, What About Us?, could incorporate a more acoustic sound. "(We're) just basically pushing the production a bit more or lessening the production so you're a bit more naked," he told Billboard.com. "It goes both ways on this particular record. We've stripped it down, taken some away and added some different elements." But Richie added that the sound is still very much Bon Jovi: "Jon and I, when we get together it sounds like Bon Jovi. It sounds like us. That's basically the way it is and what comes out comes out." Lead single Because We Can will be released in the US in January, with the album following in the spring. "The lyrics are very positive - obviously Because We Can, What About Now?, it's all empowering and that's what we were trying to get to. We were trying to get some positive lyrics. That's kind of where we landed," said Richie. Bon Jovi, who hail from New Jersey, will kick off a world tour from February, and will headline the Isle of Wight festival in June.
