X Factor's Lucy to release album

Lucy Spraggan has announced that she is planning to release an album in the next few months.

The former X Factor contestant - who had to leave this year's show after falling ill - is working on her new record and told The Sun that she hopes to unveil it by March next year.

"The plan is to write an album and have it released by spring, around March time," she said.

"I've already got about 200 songs written up and ready to go, although obviously not all of those will make it."

Lucy, who admitted she doesn't have a record deal yet but is hoping to secure one soon, also revealed she will probably write some music about her time on the talent show, where she wowed the judges including Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos.

She said: "I haven't written about X Factor yet but I always write about my experiences, so I'm sure that I will."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Rihanna and Kylie Minogue will both perform on the X Factor final next weekend. Gary and fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger will also be taking to the stage to perform with their contestants - Gary with Christopher Maloney and Nicole with her acts James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas.
