NewsAugust, 20 Calvin Harris is top of the DJsCalvin Harris is the reigning king of the decks, after he was named as the world's highest paid DJ for the second year running. The Scottish hit-maker topped Forbes.com's Electronic Cash Kings list for the second consecutive row, after he earned around 66 million US dollars (£39.8 million) in the past 12 months. It was a big jump from last year, when the 30-year-old musician earned a supposed 46 million US dollars (£27.7 million). Calvin, who has a regular slot in Las Vegas, played more than 50 gigs at festivals and clubs in the past year and had hits with I Need Your Love and Drinking From The Bottle, told Forbes: "The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years. I happened to be in the right place at the right time." David Guetta, who has a weekly residency in Ibiza, took the number two spot on the list with earnings of 30 million US dollars (£18 million), followed by Tiesto and Aviici (tied in third place with an estimated 28 million US dollars (£16.8 million). Steve Aoki takes the last place in the top five, with estimated earnings of 23 million US dollars (£13.8 million). Afrojack, Skrillex's protege Zedd, Kaskade, Skrillex and Deadmau5 round out the top 10. The list took into account earnings from live shows, merchandise, endorsements, record sales and other business ventures, from June 1, 2013, to June 1, 2014.
