NewsApril, 1 The Wanted members share heartbreaking tributes to Tom ParkerMembers of The Wanted have taken to social media to share their grief over losing their bandmate Tom Parker. Parker, one of the singers of the five-piece boyband, tragically passed away on Wednesday, March 30 after a tough battle with terminal brain cancer. The news broke when his wife Kelsey Parker announced his passing on her social media, writing: "It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side." Now his bandmates Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran have also taken to their Instagram accounts to share their tributes. Posting a video of their last concert together in Liverpool, just two weeks ago, on his Instagram, Sykes wrote it would be a memory that would stay with him "forever". "I can’t begin to express how I feel right now," he wrote. "Tom was the most passionate, funny, driven and inspiring person you could wish to meet and I’m so grateful that I was given the honour of being a part of his journey, and even more grateful I can call him my friend as well as one of four brothers." He added: "He was the reason that the band came back together and the last 6 months have been the greatest pleasure of my life. "Our lives will never be the same … Thank you Tom for bringing your light to the world. I hope we meet again one day, rest well, brother." Kaneswaran also took to his own Instagram account to share a video of the bandmates hugging Parker, with the caption: "We'll always be there for you brother." "Always & Forever. Our Tommy boy," he added. The singer's tribute was accompanied by a series of touching lyrics: " Say my name like it's the last time, live today like it's your last night, we want to cry but we know it's alright, cause I'm with you and you're with me." In the last six months, the band had got back together for a series of shows. Parker had to miss the first few shows of The Wanted's tour, travelling instead to Spain to receive further treatment for his condition. He later joined his bandmates for their hit song 'Glad You Came', sitting in a throne during the performance. Parker had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in September 2020, and had been undergoing treatment ever since.
