The former frontman of The Smiths will be at Stockton's Globe Theatre on Friday October 7 with tickets expected to go fast when they are put on sale this Thursday, June 23. Fans will know the singer songwriter has enjoyed 16 albums in the UK top ten, plus nine top ten albums with his former group influential 80s indies band The Smiths. There are just 10 dates on his new tour which starts this autumn, including the date at The Globe and a homecoming show at Manchester's O2 Apollo on Tuesday, October 4. Tickets for all of the UK dates will go on general sale on Thursday June 23 at 9.30am, tickets to see Morrissey at the Globe start at £45.15. The new tour is set to showcase songs from the 63-year-old's most recent album, Bonfire of the Teenagers, while no doubt dipping into his extensive back catalogue. Morrissey was singer and lyricist of The Smiths for six years responsible for indie hits including This Charming Man, Panic and There Is A Light That Never Goes Out cementing their place as one of the most influential bands of the 20th century. After The Smiths split up, he went on to become a successful solo artist and in 1994 his album Your Arsenal was Grammy nominated. Morrissey's songs have been covered by David Bowie, Nancy Sinatra, the Killers, Marianne Faithfull, Chrissie Hynde, My Chemical Romance, Thelma Houston, Christy Moore, amongst many others.
