NewsJuly, 4 Tom Hanks' son Chet 'condemns' bigotry about White Boy SummerTom Hanks' son, Chet, has slammed "bigots" who have turned his White Boy Summer phrase in to a racial slur. Chet, 33, coined the term in 2021 after he titled a song White Boy Summer. On his social media page, he urged his followers to "tag a REAL Vanilla king." At the time, he was mocked for the phrase, with fans making comments such as "Someone tell Chet Hanks that we're already several thousand years into a white boy summer." Now the catchphrase has been co-opted by white supremacist groups, something Chet believes has "twisted" the original meaning of the phrase. "White boy summer was created to be fun, playful, and a celebration of fly white boys who love beautiful queens of every race," the rapper wrote on social media. "Anything else that it has been twisted into to support any kind of hate or bigotry against any group of people is deplorable and I condemn it." He added, "I hope that we all can spread love to each other and treat each other with kindness and dignity." Chet, whose real name is Chester Marlon Hanks, has been forced to defend the meaning of the phrase before, revealing it was supposed to be a play on Megan Thee Stallion's, Hot Girl Summer. He explained it was meant to promote interracial relationships, not talk about "Trump and Nascar type white."
