NewsOctober, 6 Ed Sheeran tipped to play Glastonbury 2025Ed Sheeran has been tipped to play at the next Glastonbury music festival. The singing star is reportedly in talks with organisers to fill a slot in between his Mathematics European tour dates. The Sun on Sunday teased that the Shape Of You hitmaker could take to the stage on the Friday night of the five-night festival. Little is known about the lineup for next year's festival, but it was recently reported that bosses were trying to secure Eminem to headline. Meanwhile, rumours that Oasis might fill the Legends spot were quashed when the band insisted that was not the case. Organisers previously revealed that the festival will be taking a break in 2026, as is tradition to take a year off after every four or five stints. A spokesperson said, "We're taking a fallow year in 2026 to give the land a rest. And the festival before a fallow year is always a fun one to plan because you almost have to fit two years into one." There were two consecutive fallow years during the COVID-19 pandemic before the festival returned in 2022. Levitating hitmaker Dua Lipa was one of the headliners on this year's programme, along with Coldplay and SZA, while country star Shania Twain took on the Legends slot.
