Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy 'at a complete loss' following his death

Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy has revealed she's at a "complete loss" following his death.

The One Direction singer died instantly after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday.

Cassidy, who was on holiday with Payne in the South American country just days before his death, shared her devastation as she asked for privacy following the shock news.

"Thank you for all of the kind words and love that has been sent my way. I have been at a complete loss," Cassidy posted on her Instagram Story on Friday. "Nothing about the past few days have felt real."

She continued, "I ask and pray that you'll give me the grace and space to navigate this in private."

Cassidy, who was first romantically linked to Payne in 2022, went on share her deep feelings for the late star as she addressed him directly.

"Liam, my angel. You are everything," she wrote. "I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam."

She ended the heartfelt tribute with 444, an 'angel number' which is meant to represent love, peace and support.

Payne and Cassidy had spent two weeks together in Argentina, during which they had watched his former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan perform live at a concert on 2 October.

Taking to social media earlier this week, Cassidy revealed she had returned to the couple's home in Florida after their holiday lasted longer than expected.

Payne died instantly after falling from a third-floor balcony at the hotel where he had been staying in Buenos Aires. He was 31.

Meanwhile, the star's father Geoff Payne has reportedly arrived in Argentina, with TMZ apparently obtaining photographs of him on his way to the Buenos Aires Judicial Office.
