Israeli PM scraps Bieber meeting

Tentative plans for a meeting between Justin Bieber and Israel's prime minister have been called off, officials have revealed.

Benjamin Netanyahu's office said the pop sensation's representatives had raised the idea of a meeting and the Israeli leader "was open" to the possibility.

It said Mr Netanyahu wanted to bring in youngsters from southern Israel, whose communities have come under attack by Gaza militants, but that proved unfeasible.

Justin's spokesman Scooter Brown said a meeting was never pursued.

The Baby singer, 17, who is performing in Tel Aviv this week, also complained that Israeli photographers have been pursuing him when he visited holy places.

He tweeted: "They should be ashamed of themselves."
