Black Sabbath to reunite for tour?

Ozzy Osbourne could be reuniting with Black Sabbath for a new album and tour, according to the group's guitarist Tony Iommi.

The original line-up - including frontman Ozzy, Tony, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward - haven't toured together since 2005, with their last album being 1978's Never Say Die, but Tony revealed he and Ozzy have written new material together.

"We're really looking forward to it and I think the stuff we've been writing is really good. It's more back to the old original stuff," he told the Birmingham Mail.

He added: "It's all been very hush-hush. Ozzy's been the worst at trying to hold it back. He's doing a lot of TV and he's being asked stuff about a reunion and he's going, 'Well I never say never'."

The 63-year-old musician later insisted the reunion is speculation, posting on his official website: "I was merely speculating, shooting the breeze, on something all of us get asked constantly, 'Are you getting back together?'."

Ozzy hinted last year that a reunion could be a possibility, saying: "There's loads of places we never got to play as the original group so it'd be nice to do one farewell tour and then call it quits."

But in February, Geezer stated a reunion is out of the question: "I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumours, that there will be definitely no reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath. Whether to record an album or to tour."
