Beyonce to be beamed up to Wales

Beyonce is set to be beamed into the Michael Jackson tribute concert.

The Single Ladies star is reported to be performing at the Michael Forever gig at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on October 8, via a satellite link-up, because she is unable to be there in person.

"A unique, never-before-seen performance by Beyonce of one of her favourite Jackson 5 songs will be shown at the concert on October 8th!" a statement on the concert's Facebook page said.

"A lifelong Michael fan, Beyonce really wanted to be involved in this tribute concert. Due to scheduling issues she can't be there in person, but this performance is not to be missed!"

Beyonce - who was recently compared to late superstar Michael by her rapper husband Jay-Z - joins a star-studded line-up including Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Jackson Brothers, Smokey Robinson and Pixie Lott alongside reality acts Alexandra Burke, Diversity, JLS and Leona Lewis.

The show, organised by Michael's mum Katherine with the support of siblings Tito, Marlon, Jackie and La Toya, sparked controversy after two of his brothers - Jermaine and Randy - branded it "inappropriate".

But Katherine said on the concert's official website: "I am positive that this event will be an event great enough in scale, talent and imagination to form a worthy celebration of Michael's life. It is intended to be the biggest, and the best concert event in the world for many years to come."

Tickets for the event, which will celebrate Michael's music and legacy, are available from www.michaelforevertribute.com.
