Sgt Pepper artist behind Brit gongs

James Corden has said he's honoured to be presenting next year's Brit Awards for the third time.

The funnyman is returning to host the ceremony on February 21 at its new regular home at London's O2 Arena.

His first stint was in 2009, alongside Mat Horne and Kylie Minogue, and he ran the event solo last year.

The comic and actor - currently starring in West End hit One Man, Two Guvnors - said: "I enjoyed presenting the show so much last year so being asked back for the third time is a real honour.

"Ever since I was a teenager I've loved the Brit Awards. As a music fan I feel totally privileged to have the best seat in the house. I can't wait."

Meanwhile, the artist behind the Beatles' Sgt Pepper sleeve, Sir Peter Blake, has been commissioned to design the Brit Awards next year.

Sir Peter follows Dame Vivienne Westwood in putting his mark on the statuettes which are handed to prize-winners at the annual bash.

The artist is well known for his musical links. As well as his famous collage cover of 1967 Beatles classic Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, he was behind Paul Weller's Stanley Road and Oasis's Stop The Clocks.

Brits organisers are treating the trophy as a "blank canvas" and are asking prominent figures each year to add their own design.

Sir Peter, 79, said: "It is wonderful to be a part of this most important and exciting music event, honouring the greatest of talents shaping our musical landscape. I've enjoyed the creative challenge to honour such leading performers enormously."
