NewsOctober, 4 Sinead makes noises for MencapSinead O'Connor is to showcase her new band by headlining an intimate gig in aid of charity Mencap. The Nothing Compares 2 U singer is among the acts to perform at Mencap's Little Noise Sessions, curated by Jo Whiley, at St John-at-Hackney church in London in November. Sinead said: "I was really excited to get the invitation to perform for Jo Whiley at Mencap's Little Noise sessions; I'm going to be playing tons of new stuff with my spanking new band and I really hope that I can do justice to Mencap." The sessions begin on Tuesday November 22 with a gig from Elbow and Sinead plays the closing gig on Sunday November 27. Elbow front-man Guy Garvey said: "We are dead proud to be added to the list of amazing bands that have done the Little Noise Sessions. In fact we have organised a warm-up tour of Europe before the show to make sure we are in tip top condition when we play!" Also in the line-up are Marina And The Diamonds, Goldfrapp, Ed Sheeran and Example. Mencap ambassador Jo Whiley said: "Mencap's Little Noise Sessions are back for the sixth successful year and we're excited to be moving to St John-at Hackney - a venue that in its 700-year history has never played host to a music gig like this! Each year we aim to surprise and inspire the audience, with a week of unbelievable shows coupled with a simply stunning backdrop." Tickets go on general release from October 10 with an exclusive presale for subscribers from October 7 at www.littlenoisesessions.org.uk.
