McCartney honoured in home city
Sir Paul McCartney has been honoured in his home city with an "icon" award.
The former Beatle, 69, returned to Liverpool yesterday (Tuesday) to stage the sell-out finale to his On The Run world tour at the city's Echo Arena.
To mark the event, Sir Paul was named an Echo Arena Icon and presented with a specially-designed accolade.
Bob Prattey, chief executive of the venue, said: "Sir Paul is the biggest musical icon of all time so we hope our award is a fitting tribute.
"He seemed extremely proud to accept the award and thrilled to be playing in Liverpool for the final leg of his latest tour."
