Winehouse tribute concert announced

Amy Winehouse's father has announced a benefit concert will be held in tribute to the late singer.

Mitch Winehouse set up a foundation in Amy's memory after she died last July, aged just 27, and stars including Lily Allen and Jessie J are already queuing up to take part in a memorial concert in aid of the charity.

Mitch said: "The Amy Winehouse Foundation is very excited to be planning a benefit concert in tribute to Amy later this year.

"We will be talking to a variety of people in the coming months and will announce those performing as soon as we can."

It is thought the tribute will be an "intimate show" with performances from artists who Amy herself looked up to.

The troubled singer was working with Tony Bennett shortly before her death.

Lily Allen, 26, has previously said she "would be honoured" to come out of singing retirement to pay homage to Amy.

Jessie J paid tribute to the singer last year saying: "Amy definitely paved the way for people like me and Adele.

"She broke boundaries, she set the standard. She wrote music that went worldwide. Until that point, British female artists hadn't really done anything since Annie Lennox."
