DJ Fresh's regrets over song title

DJ Fresh has revealed that he "almost regrets" the title of his number one hit, Hot Right Now.

The drum 'n' bass producer, whose real name is Dan Stein, reached the top spot in the UK singles chart in February with his collaboration with up-and-coming songstress Rita Ora.

"I've had every manner of possible proportion of those words over the last six months. I almost regret calling it that," he quipped.

It was Dan's single that propelled Albanian-born Rita into the mainstream, where she has been compared to chart-topping superstar Rihanna. While the DJ agrees with the compliments, he insists that the British singer is her own person.

"I think they're both very different artists yet they're both sexy girls with great voices, with an energy and drive," he said.

"I don't know Rihanna but I see her as a super-talented person who is focused and hard-working - and Rita is the same. In that sense, there are some similarities but as artists, their musical output and style are different."

He added: "The exciting thing for Rita is that although she's originally Albanian, she grew up in England and is through-and-through British. To have people in America so excited about an English artist is a great achievement."

Dan's next single is The Power, featuring Dizzee Rascal, which is out on June 3.

"I'm a massive fan of Dizzee Rascal, and I've always wanted to work with him," he said.
